In 1987 we had a vision to improve workplaces in New Zealand. This was where it all started for Vidak.
Four Kiwis, with a small amount of experience and a 'can do' attitude, went from a home garage beginning in the eastern suburbs of Auckland, reselling an Australian partitioning system, to developing our own systems and delivering to some of the industry leading workplaces in NZ and abroad. Vidak now has branches and representation in Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington, Christchurch, Melbourne and Fiji to support this.
In November we turned 30. When you reach a milestone birthday you reflect on your life, and like any other, ours has been full of challenge and success, both of which have helped us evolve and grow as an organisation.
Our mantra “Love Your Work” is central to everything we do as an organisation, and something we have built on over the past decade as we continue to strive to be better. It influences the way we work for our customers, the way we source and develop new solutions, and the way we work together to achieve success and deal with challenge.
It is the people we have that make our business special and bring “Love Your Work” to life. It is because of our people that we are able to offer our customers more services and products than ever before, and it is our people who are working to make these better.
This year, we have delivered some amazing NZ first projects including Christchurch Justice and Emergency Services Precinct, ASB C:Drive and Smales Farm B:Hive, major new workplaces for Vodafone Auckland, Department of Internal Affairs Wellington, BNZ Wellington, Ministry for Primary Industries and Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment. We thank our customers and their designers for continuing to put faith in us and challenge us to create something new and different for their workplaces.

New product development across our entire portfolio, with a focus on greater workplace experience through improved ergonomic and technology integration ...
An opportunity to celebrate the 30 year birthday with our customers and industry partners in early 2018.
We celebrated our 30 years together on the 17th November at Villa Maria, where 105 Vidak staff and their partners came together to celebrate. Our founding shareholders Louise and Mike Vidak told the story of Vidak to all in attendance (Mike dressed up as Santa and gave out presents) including members of the Vidak team that have been with the company between 10 and 29 years. It was an incredible night that won’t be forgotten.
Lastly to our customers and partners in the industry. Thank you for all the support you have given us over the past 30 years. Without you we would not be where we are today. It is your vision to make your workplaces and spaces better that enables us to create better solutions every day. We look forward to continuing our partnership together.
