With a very clear design intent set by Architects Warren & Mahoney, the challenge was to not only help Buddle Findlay update their workspace to a more contemporary setting reflecting a modern law firm, but allow complete flexibility for future moves and changes within the tenancy for individual workpoints.
Based off of the concepts provided by WAM, Vidak created a bespoke storage spine system and desk solution to compliment the surrounding design cues throughout the office. Biophilic design was incorporated into the furniture with planters and soft materials to bring life, and increase user connectivity, to the space.
In runs of 4, 5 or 6 long, double sliding door storage units formed the anchor point of each hub, with additional steel storage or planters positioned above, all of which could be separated and repositioned to suit any layout or location.
Over 2 floors, 180 + Aerial electric sit/stand desks with a wraparound Divide screen were located facing or perpendicular to the spine storage. The workpoints could be easily reconfigured by changing the handing of the screen from left to right or vice versa using the bespoke Vidak bracket system created especially for this project.
The feedback has been very positive from across both floors – the addition of full sit to stand desks has changed how many have viewed their workspace, offering variety, ergonomics & comfort in a way which was not known to staff prior.
We’re very proud to have helped bring Buddle Findlay further forward in their ways of working, and they are a clear example of how a traditional business can be a leading case for the modern New Zealand workplace.
