Vidak worked with Massey to develop the design of the teaching faculty and postgraduate spaces at Massey’s Innovation complex in Albany, Auckland. This involved working with the Massey’s Project Team over a 12-month period to conceptualise the different spaces in response to the needs of the staff and students who would be occupying them.
Flexibility in design was possible as it was a predominantly furniture fitout including the use of Urban and Room Pods to create enclosed meeting rooms and offices, providing Massey with future flexibility in the years to come.
The workstations were all sit-to-stand Aerial workstations, complete with dynamically adjustable Vader monitor arms and above desk power, fitted with different acoustic Divide screens to provide students and staff with different levels of privacy and connection with their colleagues.
Vidak’s Retreat wall system was provided as a solution to increase privacy at the end of workstations that were located by walkways, and also an acoustic divider to semi-enclose utility areas throughout the space.
