Sharing the building with recent VIDAK fit outs ‘Waikato Regional Council’ & ‘Opus’, we were keen to make sure that the final occupants were as satisfied as their new neighbours.
Partnering with Spark and working with their architects, Edward’s White, Vidak refined a suite of furniture (designed and produce by Vidak) to provide a greater variety of spaces conducive to collaboration, connection and focus that is needed in a modern workplace, with finishes that complimented the new workplace look and feel.
For some staff, this would be a new way of working; The ability to use a Huddle soft seating booth for video conferencing or take a personal phone call in a Retreat lounge chair or Room booth would be a warm welcome back to the workplace post lockdown.
The key area for all staff was always going to be the Kitchen hub; this is intended to be a place of interaction and activity with a mix of soft seating pieces that mould to the curves of the building. Low level Trestle Eco tables and benches bring a more residential feel to the space and Luca Leaner tables looking out to Seddon Park are multi-purpose for either quiet focus work, lunch breaks or a quick catch up whilst sat on Pure Barstools.
As a bonus and a great sustainable outcome, the workstations system “Engage” Vidak supplied to Spark over 10 years ago, was able to be repurposed in new configurations with upgrades to adjustability, power and technology support to provide another 10+ years of use to our customer.
For a company like Spark that move as quickly as technology changes, the staff at their Hamilton office can now be as adaptable with their various ways of working.
