The world’s largest marketer of kiwifruit, Zespri, have moved to more flexible ways of working following the completion of phase one of their new Mount Maunganui headquarters. The new three-storey building is approximately 4,000m2 and offers a variety of work environments for a range of collaboration styles and focused work.
Vidak worked with Zespri and architects, Warren and Mahoney, to deliver a world-class environment fitting for this rapidly growing company. The flexible design allows 340 staff members to move according to the work at hand, boosting productivity and also reducing the physical footprint of the building.
Solutions for Agile Working
Huddle Collaborative Booths provide semi-private collaborative spaces within the open plan space. Ergonomically designed soft seating and easily accessible power/data and AV equipment allows teams to meet in comfort with all the necessary technology and tools. The freestanding units also save space by reducing the number of formal meeting rooms required on the floorplate.
Similarly, Huddle TV Wall with bar leaners provide an alternative option with higher worktops for those wishing to stand.
Escape soft seating with higher seat backs create enclaves for small groups to gather to catch up or work away from their desks.
A range of Retreat booths offer variety while still retaining a similar design language throughout the space. The soft, upholstered screens provide a level of visual and acoustic privacy for independent focused work, dual work and conventional task work in zones. Rise electric sit-to-stand desks help to combat the negative effects of sedentary work.
Lockers use the dynamic, self-managing Vidak + Vecos Releezme locker management system making it easy for staff to book and unlock personal lockers via smartphone. The technology also gives greater control over storage management through configuration options and data insights.
This exciting new facility promises to offer benefits not only to staff, but to community growers and international visitors, and will be a valuable “tool” to share this region’s success story with the world.
